Ok, so it is now the 5th of July, and we saw the fireworks, drank the beer, ate the brats, celebrated another 4th of July. Is it just a day off from work for you or does it have more substantial meaning? Time is precious and we must control our decisions so that we can squeeze out of life everything that we can.
What are you going to do different?
For those of you that have a job, are you just going to go back to work on Monday and go through the drone of another 40 hour work week, not knowing if your job is going to be stable and still be there in a few months? Or are you going to roll up your sleeves, put your head down, and do something different?
For those that don’t have a job and have been affected even harder by this economy, what are you going to do? What are you doing? Sure unemployment or a nest egg can help you get through some of these times, but what are you doing to create a future asset? Something that can provide through your own production…
GUT CHECK
Now more than ever it is critical that we lead by example…take the reigns of our own life and take control, take ownership. Even if we have to work on something part time around our current life and work schedule, we are taking action! Gone are the days where we can work for a company and count on them to invest for our retirement. 401k’s are a joke in this economy and have served as a wake up call to many, a proverbial shakedown, to slap some sense into those that haven’t seen the value of owning their own business.
You say that you don’t have the capital, or you don’t have the skill set to be able to do it. My question to you is, what are you doing about it? Whining is not going to solve the problem, action will. Go on faith, step up, be the leader that you are intended to be. Make a decision and stick to it. Get better, read, learn, study, match and model. Whatever it takes. You can do it if you choose to.
Today is a new day, today is now, don’t wait until tomorrow, don’t limit yourself from the past. Today is your Independence Day! Go out there and claim what is yours!
